You've found the perfect parking space in the middle of the city, but you're not 100% sure whether you're allowed to use it?
- Then it's time for a refresher course on no-parking zones! 😎
Why bother?
Every week, the authorities send us over a thousand parking tickets, which means unnecessary costs for our customers and additional paperwork for us. Here are the most important traffic signs for stopping and parking:
Absolutely no stopping or parking
- 💡 Stopping = The vehicle is stopped for up to 3 minutes and the driver doesn't leave the vehicle.
- 💡 Parking = The vehicle is stopped for more than 3 minutes or the driver leaves the vehicle.
Restricted parking
- 💡 Stopping = The vehicle is stopped for up to 3 minutes and the driver does not leave the vehicle.
- 💡 Parking = The vehicle is stopped for more than 3 minutes or the driver leaves the vehicle.
How to read the arrows on the signs?
The arrow is at the top? This is the start of a restricted parking section. Parking is prohibited, and stopping is allowed.
This is the middle of the restricted parking section. Do not park here.
The arrow is at the bottom? This is the end of the restricted parking section.
Restricted parking with time specification
The additional sign indicates the period of time to which the restricted parking section is limited. It therefore only applies within this period – in this case between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The additional sign "werktags außer samstags" ("weekdays except Saturdays") means that the restricted parking applies on weekdays from Monday to Friday.
- 💡 If a public holiday falls within this period, the restricted parking ban does not apply.
No-parking areas
This is the beginning of an entire restricted parking zone. No parking applies to all streets in the area. Stopping is allowed.
The no-parking area ends here.
